6 Savoury and Sweet Ways to Enjoy Pancake Day
Let’s be honest with ourselves, we always forget that it is coming up don’t we? However, pancake day is one of our favourite days here at Eversfield Organic. This year, we’ve got some real treats and suggestions as to how the whole family can enjoy the day.
Ready To Go Mixes
If you don’t fancy the chore of selecting all the individual ingredients or have certain dietary needs but still fancy a sweet Shrove Tuesday this year, then our handy ready-to-go batter mixes are the solution.
The Morning Dreamers Pancake Mix is a great option for a breakfast treat. Soft, fluffy and sure to satisfy, these pancakes are also gluten free, dairy free and vegan friendly. If you're locked into your fitness goals but still fancy a treat, then our Wakey Wakey Protein Pancake Mix offers that extra hit of protein to power you through the day. Vegan and gluten-free, these pancakes serve up 20 grams of protein per 100 grams.
Topping Treats
Most people (myself included) see pancakes as a sweet treat. This doesn’t always have to be the case though. There are a few ways in which pancakes can be made into a hearty, savoury dish.

Smoked Salmon and Soft Cheese
A classic combination that really complements the soft texture of fluffy pancakes. Salty and smokey salmon alongside rich spreadable cheese is always a winner in our eyes. Garnish with salad leaves and a drizzle of balsamic glaze to finish.
While not the most exotic of choices, the humble pancake can be brought to life by our organic ham and cheddar. Liven the dish up by opting for our honey roast ham slices or oak-smoked cheddar. If you want to take it to the next level, place the fillings inside each pancake and roll up before frying for another 2 minutes to melt the cheddar. Perfection.
Chicken and Avocado
A brunch classic, this fresh and healthy option will help you balance your fitness goals and still enjoy pancake day. Add a splash of caesar dressing and a couple of crunchy bristles of organic lettuce to bring this dish together.
Those are all great options but they don’t quite possess the allure of dessert pancakes. Here are a few of our suggestions as to how you can get your fix.

Fresh Fruit and Powdered Sugar
Fresh fruit is divine at the worst of times. When you add pancakes and a few healthy spoons of sugar it might just be the ultimate combination. Go for classic choices like banana, strawberries and blueberries, or test out some new combinations with pineapple, kiwi and mango.

Melted Organic Chocolate

Yoghurt and Honey
