 Going dry this January? Check out some of our fabulous mocktail recipes, just as good as the real deal (if not better!)

 Dry January is an initiative by Alcohol Change UK, encouraging people to go alcohol free for the whole of January in a bid to reduce excessive and reckless drinking and show people that alcohol isn’t a necessity for socialising, relaxing or having fun.

 Despite being a tricky decision to undergo, dry January can be very rewarding, reaping long term benefits as well as the immediate. Going a month free from alcohol has been proven to help lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of diabetes and lower cholesterol as well as brighten your skin, help increase productivity and let you sleep better, sounds good to me!

 Long-term, dry January has been found to help people drink more healthily all year round, proving alcohol isn’t a necessity for socialising, relaxing or having fun, meaning people can have more control over their drinking habits.

 If keeping an eye on your weekly alcohol units was top of your New Year’s resolutions, dry January can be a great place to start… Ready to take the plunge?


Mocktail Recipes

 One way to feel like you’re missing out less out at parties, or other social situations involving drinking during dry January is mocktails. Whipping up your own mocktails can prove to be just as good as (if not better than) a traditional cocktail, delicious, fun, fruity and lacking the hangover and questionable decisions that can come from one too many!

 The star of our favourite mocktail recipes is The Original GIMBER. This delicious blend of 100% natural and organic ingredients, including ginger, lemon and various spices presents a flavourful alcohol-free drink with a bit of a bite. Extremely versatile, GIMBER can be simply added to sparkling water or tonic or dashed into mocktail creations for a more complex tipple.

We recommend combining with lime juice, sparkling water, fresh mint and crushed ice for a virgin mojito with a kick. 

 Alternatively, why not try adding it to apple juice, sage and sparkling water and leave top infuse for a deliciously fruity apple spritz.
