Still need convincing? Well, I had a chat with founder Rose Sergeant to find out all about their fight for higher quality, sustainable festive fun.

Catching up with Rose

The Good Zest Company was the product of the need to create truly natural, transparent skin and hair care. “I created the company three years ago when my husband had an allergic reaction to a seemingly natural shampoo”, said Rose. “Upon closer inspection of the ingredients, nothing, other than the marketing image on the bottle was natural. The product was made up completely of harsh chemicals, preservatives and artificial colours and scents.”

Rose took it upon herself to bring a new product to the industry that cleansed the way nature intended. She continued: “Looking at the hair and skincare market, even high-end, it was clear that there was a lack of organic products that also had eco/sustainable credentials. This inspired me to use my skills as a clinical aromatherapist to create hair and body care products that were not only organic and cruelty-free but also kind to the planet and completely sustainable.”

Rose detailed her production process. “We only use certified organic ingredients (COSMOS). All of our products feature natural fragrances from the citrus family, hence our name, due to their emotionally uplifting therapeutic benefits. We even go through the trouble of zesting the fruits ourselves to lock in their goodness. Our essential oils are of the finest therapeutic and organic grade and this accounts for the amazing natural scents our products emit.”

I asked Rose if we could look forward to any upcoming releases and she did not disappoint. “Next year we have a lime and lemon eucalyptus bath oil launching in mid-January and a chocolate orange scented foot and heel balm planned for early February.”
