Mum’s the Word
Firstly, when is Mother’s Day? This year it falls on Sunday 14th March (thank us later!). Although we mostly celebrate our own Mums on this day, motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of motherhood in society are also appreciated on Mother’s Day. So if you know a great Mother, why not spoil them with a gift too? We’re sure it’ll get you some brownie points!
Whilst more recently the term “Mother’s Day” is associated with American ways, the gratitude towards Motherly love has been a custom in Britain as far back as the Middle Ages. Back in the day, sons and daughters all over the country would spend the fourth Sunday of Lent travelling home to see their Mums and wish them a happy Mother’s Day, creating the long-standing tradition of Mothering Sunday. Although we might not be able to visit our favourite Motherly figures this year, let them know you’re thankful with one of these gorgeous, organic gifts…
