You may have noticed that we’re very proud of our free-range Devon organic turkeys and pasture-fed dry-aged beef. So much so, we may sound like a broken record at times when discussing our award-winning range. However, we feel that the rest of our Christmas centrepiece range is just as deserving of being bragged about. Read on for a comprehensive insight into your options if you are considering an adventurous move away from your Christmas turkey this year. 


A Change of Birds

A bird that isn’t often associated with Christmas yet more than holds its own when served up is the humble Organic Chicken. Perhaps suitable for a more low-key celebration, our free-range chicken is still succulent, juicy and wonderfully versatile.


Just because you’re not having turkey, it doesn’t mean that you can’t accompany your new bird with traditional pigs in blankets, festive baubles, cranberry & apple stuffing, and redcurrant jelly. After all, we think the feast is only as good as its trimmings.

 

Talk That Pork

If you’re sick of assorted wings and giblets and want something a little easier to carve on the 25th, our delicious selection of chunky pork joints surely ticks the box. 100% organic and outdoor-reared pigs make both our Traditional Whole Ham and marinated Honey Roast Ham serious centrepiece contenders for the big day. If you’re lucky there may even be a few slices left for an extra-special boxing day sandwich.

Unsmoked Cured Gammon is another superb option if you are looking to experiment and create your own flavoured ham. If crackling is what you desire, look no further than our boned and rolled Pork Loin Joint. Expertly butchered on our farm, this joint melts slowly for a tender, moreish bite.

We recommend complementing with sage & onion stuffing and deliciously porky cocktail sausages.


Making Lamb Sure

We’ve got some bleatin’ great lamb joints on offer this year. For those who are looking for a showstopping feast, we suggest our Whole Leg, Smoked Leg, or Festive Stuffed Shoulder, all of which pack a punch with moist, succulent meaty chunks. We also stock Lamb Leg, both Bone-In and Boned & Rolled, as well as Boned & Rolled Lamb Loin, meaning there’s never been a better opportunity to cheat on Turkey.

Whether you choose to roast slowly to achieve a delectable pull-apart dish, or flash roast on high heat for a sumptuous medium rare, you’ll be guaranteed satisfied diners. 


Venison

If you’re really looking to break tradition this year for your nearest and "deerest" (sorry), our wild venison represents a rebellious choice. Our Wild Venison Saddle is produces the most tender mouthful and pairs excellently with rich, berry-based sauces. If you’re after a more intense, gamey flavour, look no further than our Haunch, available both Bone In or handily Boned & Rolled for an easy carve.
