Ingredients
-
500g of organic white flour
-
10g of dried yeast
-
10g of salt
-
300ml of warm water
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, place all your ingredients, making sure not to let the yeast and salt touch each other for now.
Combine the ingredients to form your dough, and once nicely mixed tip onto your work surface. This may be sticky, but don’t be tempted to add more flour!
Knead the dough for around 10-12 minutes until it feels elastic, silky and smooth.
Put the dough back into the mixing bowl and cover it with clingfilm, then leave for 1 hour to prove.
Once an hour is up, take your dough out of the mixing bowl, turning it and put it into a loaf tin.
Cover with oiled cling film and leave it for a further hour, until it has doubled in size.
Dust the top of your loaf lightly with flour and slash the top lengthways with a sharp knife, without dragging or deflating the dough.
Pop your dough in the oven for 35-45 minutes until it is a lovely golden brown colour and sounds hollow when tapped from the bottom.
Enjoy your homemade bread!
