Real Bread Week: Our Organic Bakery
Here at Eversfield Organic we’re all about real. Real ingredients, real processes and real flavour. That’s why we love Real Bread Week which is celebrated between February 18th – 26th. As if we needed an excuse to celebrate our superb organic bakery!
If you’re lucky enough to live near one of our fantastic Farm Shops, you’ll be well aware of the many treats our organic bakery serves up on a daily basis. Exclusive pasties, sausage rolls, pastries, cakes and other sweet treats crafted by chefs in our Home Farm Kitchen are undoubtedly responsible for luring in our lovely customers. But we can’t take all the plaudits for our bakery’s success.

Meet Baker Tom
Founded by (you guessed it) Tom over 15 years ago, Baker Tom’s is an artisan bakehouse which began in the neighbouring county of Cornwall. Much like Eversfield, Tom’s beginnings were humble, delivering a handful of hand-crafted loaves to his local farm shop via a push bike. Fast forward and Tom now runs three Cornwall-based bakeries, as well as providing his quality produce to a selection of purveyors throughout the South West.
In keeping with Real Bread Week, there’s no doubt that Tom’s produce passes the test. Made up purely from flour, water, yeast, sea salt, and local organic ingredients to add flavour, every product that finds its way into our farm shops and online store contains no nasty additives or preservatives.

We can thank Baker Tom for several of our organic fan favourites. Perhaps most notably our superb sourdough. We’ve begged Tom for the method ever since we first carved into a crusty slice but he’s yet to reveal his secrets! If you’re getting in the spirit of Real Bread Week with a classic sourdough loaf, we recommend pairing with a generous spreading of our own salted butter. This loaf is also available pre-sliced, perfect for dinner time with you and yours. Along with the sourdough bloomer and its seeded companion, these loafs all offer up endless opportunities for hearty sandwiches, such as cheese and chutney or beef and mustard.
Tom’s lovingly baked loaves aren’t just limited to sourdough though. The deliciously dark 100% rye reaches its forte when balanced with fresh and light flavours such as tomato, avocado, organic poached egg and our market garden alfalfa sprouts. If you’re looking for the optimum accompaniment to our divine organic bacon and sausage, then you can’t go wrong with Tom’s 100% wholemeal loaf or white loaf, depending on your preference. Both varieties are also available pre-sliced, meaning that Saturday morning brunch has never been easier to assemble.
